Susan Patton Fine Art
Truthful art is a form of intelligent, inspiring communication of the unseen. It is the goal of my career.
I have always loved people. I think it came from growing up on the farm and spending time with my grandparents- either at the table enjoying fresh tea cakes or riding on the combine watching my "Pop" look through his tinted eyeglasses under his blue-rimmed cap as he gathered the soybeans. I spent a lot of time in a playhouse in my backyard imitating my grandmother cooking in her kitchen and watching my brother plow the sandy rows of pretend crops with his green iron tractor that came from the feed store.
Since that time, I have continued to not only observe with my eyes, but with my heart. I have been driven to continually study painting and constantly improve, and to share that information with other artists through teaching.
I am thankful to have this chance to be an artist, and I take that title very seriously. I believe it is a gift, but a gift that has to be nurtured. Just like those soybeans that we were gathering, there was a lot of work done before the harvest was gathered. When God fashioned me to be an artist, he gave me a big dose of a desire to learn and a little smidgen of talent to get started. I thank Him every day for the chance to serve Him in this way. May I be found faithful.
